Eilean Donan Castle

I know my fingers have probably been as cold, but not often colder than they were on this mid-winter's day. The "wall" of darkness on the right is the next squall coming in over Loch Alsh. The blessing that came with this storm was an almost total lack of tourists, as Scotland was battered by fresh gales (force 8) between 21 and 27 December 2016. Gusts of up to 134 kph (83 mph) were recorded up at Sella Ness in Shetland but thankfully at Dornie, 550 km south, things were a little less dramatic.
