About Terry
The first step
toward creative photography is to see with love in ones
heart, that is vision clarified. To recall a moment from a
dream, manifest the moment into a piece of reality and then
share with the rest of the world to see. For me photography
is proof that tragedy is the seed from which a greater love
grows, one can only fly as high as they have been drug down
low in the depths of loss and pain, that is where the wings
of understanding lay.
In late August
1998 when I was 23 and trying to figure out a way to make a
living mountain biking or small mouth bass fishing.
I made a
random stop into a pawn shop and purchased a used Canon
Rebel even though I knew absolutely nothing about
photography. The first time I photographed a sunset from a
bluff top above the Arkansas River the waters of my
existence no longer murky instantly as clear as Richland
Creek in the summertime. I told myself I have a lot of
catching up to do and photographed with reckless abandon. If
I do not tell you this then you cannot really see, and you
cannot truly feel, or hear the voices in the frame of the
calm and the still.
